Isthmus of Tehuantepec
This is the region of Mexico where I work.  It has three seasons, hot, hot and rainy and warm and really really windy. 
The Oaxacan side part of the region s the home of several indigenous groups including the Isthmus Zapotecs, Zoque, Ikoots and Lower Mixe.  We have undergone many changes in the last 20 years including being home to the largest wind parks in Mexico and now the Interoceanic Train.
